On Saturday, Sept. 6, four Cleveland Browns greats will visit the Hartville MarketPlace and Flea Market to sign FREE autographs and visit with fans.

Hanford Dixon, Tom Cousineau, Felix Wright and Tim Manoa will be at the MarketPlace from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 6. The Akron Browns Backers will also be present to sign up anyone interested in joining their club.

Spiderfest weekend and a garden bulb expert

Tickets are now available for the long anticipated celebration – THE Event 2008 – a benefit to raise money for local cancer patients and their families. THE Event 2008 will take place Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008. The previous sell-out event, held in 2006, was a huge success and helped The Stephen A. Comunale, Jr. Family Cancer Foundation raise money to benefit their extensive outreach program.

After struggling for a couple of weeks, Akron finished strong in the final week, going 5-2 in their last seven games to finish the year 80-62, their fourth season in a row with 80 wins or more. Kevin Dixon pitched well to pick up his ninth win of the year, as the Aeros have Tuesday off before they begin their best-of-five series for the Southern Division Championship with Bowie Wednesday night.
